Ashwood Estate Pinot Gris 2009 (Single bottle)

2009 was another large vintage that was blessed with a long slow ripening period. The effect of another Indian Summer was that physiological ripeness was achieved resulting in rich flavours while still retaining good acidity. The 2009 Ashwood is a slightly drier style than previous vintages displaying lifted aromatics tending towards citrus characters like mandarin and blood orange. The finish is well balanced with discernable minerality. The delicate linear flavours suggest this wine should develop into a fine classic Pinot Gris.
